Twas me that posted up about The Woodsmen awhile ago - theyre a local band from here in London/Brighton UK. Glad some of you are enjoying them anyhow! So, Cds then....you're in luck as the band have just released a 6 track EP. Think it's only available at shows though. Best bet would be to send them a message through myspace and i'm sure they'll sort you out with one: www.myspace.com/theewoodsmen As for tunes, i've been listening to a load of Siobhan, Singing Loins, Birthday Party, Tom Waits and Uncle Tupelo

I've been listening to Andrew Dice Clay of late...absolutely the filthiest comedy I've ever heard. Gotta love it...although you have to be careful listening to it too much or you end up talking like it in real life. Case in point, when I went to bed last night I said to my wife, "Get over here you filthy animal". Bit of trouble, although I can open my left eye a little now...

Listened to the new Zydepunks. S'good. Won't say brilliant. but damn good.
What's caught m'ear lately...
I've been on kinda a country kick...
Darkbuster's lead singer has a country band, called Lenny & The Piss Poor Boys. S'fucking brilliant. Also, been on a *whole* mess of The Supersuckers (They Must've been High), an' Hank III.
Side note: Next week, in Muncie IN, I'm gonna go see Those Poor Bastards, who I love, the .357 string band... Who may very well be the best band I've e'er played with, an' HANK III. Last week, my shitty punk band, had the honour of playing with THE MURDER JUNKIES. Merle is gonna be there fer this.. What with them playin' with Hank a whole bunch lately.
But yeah. S'gonna be brilliant. An' tha's the end of Tom's story.

The past week or so for myself has been the new Singing Loins as well as Springsteen Seeger Sessions and new Springsteen & E Street Band record which is quite a grower!
Also been getting back into some old Hawkwind which is feckin ace as is a similarly trippy band called Wooden Shjips.

New DKM - best they've sounded in a while IMO. 'Flannigans Ball' hooked me, one of their better trad covers.
Does it drive anyone else crazy that Ken Casey sings half the verses? Maybe it's just me... I like Al's voice much better.
The Legendary Shack*Shakers - Pandelerium - Insane carnival gypsy psychobilly... much different (and much better) then their previous stuff, which was decent revved-up roots rock
Zydepunks - And the Streets Will Flow With Whiskey - how did I miss this band? Awesome - Pogues go Cajun.
Gogol Bordello - Super Traranta - 'nuff said.
Also the new Bad Religion (terrific as always) and Mastodon - so heavy, so good.

Listening to a lot of Bob Dylan lately. I've always had the essential double disc cd and loved it. I'm just now venturing into each specific album and listening to gems that I haven't heard before yet.

Couple More Zydepunks rants. Its amazing how tight and skilled both the rythm section (drums and bass) and lead (2 Accordions, Fiddle) not to mention vocals when they pop up are. Top quality musicianship for sure. And they do it without a guitar in site!! Also loved the dub skelper cover. Great version of big man walking in the rain.

Ghost Riders In The Sky Following site has at least 50 (downloadable) versions of the song from Lawrence Welk to some Finnish black metal band. Only one missing is the version by the Ramrods who had a radio hit with it in the early '60's. www.secretspain.org/ghostriders.html
