whats with the covers of the last 2 tossers CDs - looks like cheap death metal shit to me Incidentally, thanks to this comment, I dusted off Angel's Cry, by Geasa, a heavy metal band with some goth leanings and titles like "Tuatha de Dannan", "Duan do mo Bheann Sidhe", and "Spancil Hill". (Yeah, that "Spancil Hill".) So this is what I am currently listening to. And yeah, similar style artwork. ;D

you should listen to a band called by the name of Tuatha de Dannan, they are a brazilian folk metal band. I'm not a huge metal fan but I do listen to some stuff.

Tossers - Agony.
Top stuff again, not sure yet how I'd stack it against 'Valley' but it's right up there. I get 'Siobahn' stuck in my head something fierce... although it has a tendency to turn into 'Boat Train' after a while (First we had some whisky, then we had some gin...)
Also Upper Crust - Cream of the Crust... and of course the new tWoS tracks, plug plug ;D

Petsch Mosers cd "Reforma." Petsch Moser are a cool band from Vienna. Wikipedia describes there sound as....
"Playing out like rather dirty and drenchy guitar and harp sounds. Sometimes a bit laid back and country regarding the rythms and groove."
I also was listening to Social Distortion's cd Sex, Love, and Rock'n'Roll which is a great cd. I especially love the song Angel's Wings.
And last but not least I've started listening to Deepak Ram which is an interesting musician who plays the flute and plays north indian classical music sometimes mixed with other world music genres. Very relaxing chill out music.

Those Poor Bastards, a bunch. s'this dark... almost goth- country band. Pretty damned bad-assed. Been runnin' through the old Nyah Feartis playlist a lot too. An' a band called the Cherry Coke$. Those guys're like... Japanese... rock/pysch-abilly... western.. jugband.. bluegrass... Somethin'.. It sounds like the soundtrack of a spagetti western movie, all coke up or somethin'.

The Cherry Coke$... sweet. Where'd you dig that up? Did you actually buy/download their CD somewhere?
Reminds me of a Japanese band called the Tokyo Skunx... they called their music 'Rustic Stomp'... chaotic hillbilly in a particularly insane Japanese style... I wonder if I still have that cassette...

The Cherry Coke$ are a cool band, I downloaded a couple of their cds a while ago from a friend. Another good japanese band playing similar styled celtic punk music is "Classic Chimes"

Found the Coke$ on soulseek, a spot back, from this cat in Russia. He turned me on to alot of things tha' I'd ne'er heard 'fore. Language barrier was fun t'work around though. I've got two albumns by the Tokyo Skunx as well. I've got this compilation called Rustic Stomp. S'all pretty bad-assed. Chimes are on there as well. I'll give ya a tracklist later on, if yer interested in findin' more in tha' style.
Started talkin' with that guy from Russia, in the first place, because I downloaded the Sods first albumn from 'im. S'funny, when I have to download one o' m'own band's albumn from halfway 'round the world.

I use soulseek as well, I'm not sure I know of the russian guy you're talking of. There's quite a few people with similar taste though and we all share a lot of different styles of celtic and folk music.

Yeah, definitely. One of my earlier bands had a Japanese bass player, he was into that whole 'Rustic Stomp' scene... I taped a bunch of stuff off of him, but now I can't find it (and even if I could, what would I play it on? ;D)

Paddy related: I've bought and listened to the new Filthy Thieving Bastards and Amadan cds. Also bought the JD and the Longfellows cd finally. All pretty cool stuff. Currently listening through a Thelonious Monk compilation. I also bought two cds from the armenian musician Gor Mkhitarian who I've mentioned before. Great music, blues, american, folk, all mixed together. Last but not least I also bought two cds from the bands Fragile Jack and Trashcan Joe. Both can be found on cdbaby with descriptions of their music. Here's the links..... cdbaby.com/cd/trashcanjoecdbaby.com/cd/fragilejack1

No worries man, and are you the one on the left or the right ?? I've been listening to five bands mostly over the weekend: Jimmy George, Big Bad Bollocks, The Lash, Saint Bushmills Choir and The Dolmites...yeeha! Rock n roll! You the man! And Prof, it all sounds good with the Jamesons...below is a pictorial summary of the evening I had planned once the kids were in bed and the Missus went out: I was thinking of having a few quiets and playing along with Tears for Beers...but I got the order wrong (too many drinks before playing) and when I couldn't keep up with Blarney Pilgrim I got pissed off and the mando went back in the case, the CD went back in the cover, but somehow the whiskey had no trouble continuing to come out of the bottle...hmmm and now I'm writing crap on the computer. Sad prick!!! Nitey nite all...

Did I have a few gin & tonics too many or did I really hear Shane singing Sunnyside of the Street in the background of a Cadillac SUV TV commercial? That was weird. Made me watch the commercial, but I didnt find myself rushing out to buy a Caddy when it was over.

And I thought Cadillac was using Led Zeppelin's Rock & Roll to promote their youthful, hip & fun image.

There's no way in fuck, they actually listened t'the words o' tha' song. Beautifully put! In fact given the production effort (and associated expense) that would have gone into creating the ad in the first place - its just classic that they never listened to the song properly at all... ;D
