Been listening to it this morning (and will deffo be buying) and from the first track thought it was superb ! Kicks Blackout into touch ... more akin with Sing Loud Sing Proud for sure. Citizen CIA old skool DKM's, the trad tracks are all done well. To be honest the only track I'm not keen on is Tessie

Cheers for sending me the tracks earlier, Rat boy!
What I've heard so far is very good - Captain Kelly's Kitchen and Your Spirit's Alive, and I can't wait to hear the rest of the CD - I'm not that struck on Tessie either I must admit.
Sounds as though the new CD could be heavier than Blackout...

I love Tessie, but i'm also a huge red sox fan. I guess some people wouldn't like it because they don't like the red sox. I enjoy it.

Well, The Warrior's Code definitely has the thumbs up from me! I will be buying the CD once it hits the shops too... The stand out tracks for me are - Your Spirit's Alive, The Warrior's Code, Captain Kelly's Kitchen, Wicked Sensitive Crew, Citizen CIA, The Green Fields of France, The Last Letter Home and The Auld Triangle. Though all the tracks are top notch and I'm even getting used to Tessie! I like Sunshine Highway though it's pretty MTV friendly, so I would imagine they'd be releasing that one as a single in the States. Thank goodness I don't wear mascara, The Green Fields of France certainly brings a lump to your throat and makes your eyes water...I've not heard the song before and wasn't expecting the lyrics, course I were listening to the song on the bus at the time, quite embarrasing indeed, it's not often a song will have that effect on me.

They just shot the video for it yesterday. As far as the tearjerkers of the album go, "Green Fields of France" is up there, but the one that really got me is "Last Letter Home."

The Porters do a great version of this song on their CD. I wasnt planning on buying the new DKM, but may do so solely for this song.

not a fan of the album, listened to it many a time, few good tracks but overall dissapointing. blackout is far far superior in my opinion.

I've been listening to this cd and I really cant find anything good about it exept for the auld lang triangle. In my opinion this is by far there worst release yet. I actually had to skip some of the tracks because they were anoying me. I was a huge fan of do or die and the gangs all here. The next two were allright, but nothing special, this one, it fucking sucks. to bad they didnt stick with what they did good, punkrock.

Gotta continue to disagree. I think this is better than their "punk rock" days, but I'm not going to get into that old argument about "band progression" again. Granted, there is no "Forever" on here (best song, to me), but I don't need another one of those. I appreciate that people are giving it repeated chances, but it bums me out that it's not working for some of you, yet.

what exactly did they do "wrong" on this album? i was gonna just go out and buy it but now i'd want to hear it first. i'm with rumrebellion on prefering the punk DKM to their newer "trad-punk". they shoulda stopped all of that after having shane to guest vocals on 'good rats' and 'wild rover', though. i heard 'the green fields of france' on the PaddyRock webcast and just kinda liked it.

what did they do wrong? it sounds like they're trying to make mtv acceptable music to me. "take another ride on the sunshine highway, take another ride try and turn it around" hahaha. gimme a fucking break.

"take another ride on the sunshine highway, take another ride try and turn it around" hahaha. gimme a f**king break. I thought the same thing about that song at first, but I really think there is more to that then just poppy lyrics. I'm waiting to read all the lyrics before I make a judgement, but my first impression is that the chorus is a bit tongue-in-cheek.

Just listened to the album for the first time...
Somewhat reminds me of "Sing Loud Sing Proud" Their new version of Shipping Up To Boston is way better than the original. Green Fields is good, if not great, but the Dolomites do it better. Auld Triangle is excellent.
I'll have to give it a few more spins in order to give an honest opinion.
