The Go Set's new album is out - called "Sing a song of Revolution". The band also has a new website up, after some server troubles earlier in the year. www.thegoset.com.au or www.thegoset.com

Seeing them show up on the Best of 2004 list finally got my attention. Hey, these guys ARE that good. Plus ya gotta love (and support) a band with balls enough to post full songs for download instead of just samples.

yeah the download thing is cool, I actually bought the album after hearing the downloads, then caught them live. the album is great, but the live show was sensational. probably the best gig i saw in 2004 (up there with royal crown revue, the mckenzies, and dropkick murphys for mine).

I've been waiting about a week or 2 for CDbaby to get Sing a Song of Revolution back in stock. You can also order it from www.laughingoutlaw.com.au, but cdbaby appears to be cheaper.

Hey guys Thanks for loving the album so much. We're Hopefully gunna have a new one out later this year. For a taste of the new songs get down to a show. Also we hope to touring internationally later this year so keep an eye on our website for those dates once we've figured out wots going on. If your having trouble finding the mp3's its probably because the frame has split the window in the wrong spot. just click and drag it down so you have 2 rows of buttons in the top frame. click on the mp3 link and go your hardest. If your still having probs email me rotten@thegoset.com.au Cheers Johnny Rotten McHaggis

Aye lads! We're currently working on a new album at the moment. I guess the final release date on that will determine our overseas tour schedule. At this stage it looks as though we will be doing Europe in Feb/March. and then over to the US for SXSW and a run of club shows.
In the meantime, we're hoping to have the McKenzies and a few other bands out here to tour around Australia/New Zealand with us.

Ahoy all !
The Go Set are probably the best live band in Australia. Keep petitioning them, all you lads and ladettes, 'cause it is as good a live show as you'll ever see.

I think if any band in this scene is going to really make it then it's The Go Set Big call there! I agree with you 100% though, I can't even begin to imagine why anyone wouldn't love this band. Both albums are masterpieces and live they blow you away. They're due back over here (New Zealand) next year which will be awesome, and either way I should be in Go-Set home country at some point in the first half of 07 so hoping to catch them then too. And for all your sakes, I sure hope the proposed US and UK tours get off the ground in 2007 too... There's something particularly honest about the energy and the song-writing of The Go Set. I was a fan from the first notes of 1788 when I heard it on the Paddy Rock Radio Vol.1 CD a little over a year ago. About 20 minutes later I was hooking myself up on line with a copy of their CD only to find out they were touring to my home town in a months time. Talk about luck! And the live show, to a ridiculously small audience, was just insane - best gig of 2005 for sure! So anyone who hasn't heard these guys - go check em out right now! www.thegoset.com.auwww.myspace.com/thegoset
