Taken from Rolling Stone magazine...posted July 22nd 2005:- Backstage at the Warped Tour, Dropkick Murphys singer Al Barr shared his holiday plans: He and the band are heading to England to play some shows with the Pogues. The last time the two groups shared a stage was in London with the late Joe Strummer, at one of his final shows. "Joe was amazing," Barr said. "He opened with like eight Clash songs and I had tears coming down my face. Then we sat on the stage with Joe, drank wine and watched the Pogues play" . . . There are an awful lot of Pogues fans (expecially the old 'traditionalists') who totally hate the Dropkick Murphys. So it would be cool to beat them to crap by starting a mosh at the Dropkicks' set.

Don't worry, I will - I'm a bigger DKM fan than a Pogues fan I'll be heading over to Wales for the Cardiff show on the 12th December - Christmas has definitely come early this year! Just working out what other date I'm gonna do...Newcastle's looking good at the moment if I can get the time off work, flights are cheap enough. Though Birmingham's probably the 2nd closest gig so I might have to do that one as well...decisions decisions!
