Most definitely not!!! I'm sure they get the goth crew in during the evening, I've only been there on an afternoon and it's usually fairly quiet.

Most definitely not!!! Okay, okay! No harm intended. As a former resident of Salem, Massachusetts, (my current regular watering hole is right in Downtown Salem,) I have seen my share of these folk. S'why I asked, is all.

Yeah. October gets very touristy, (Traffic sucks,) and the last weekend through Halloween is as close to Mardi Gras as we get! With witches circles, Vampire Balls, (smirk), a "Festival of the Dead" and all sorts of stuff for the kiddies! (When Halloween is on a weekend, it is like Carnivale!) Fun stuff, though.

Salem in an interesting place, this past St. Patrick's weekend, my fiance and I took an extra day and went to Salem. We're both English grad students, and my focus is on 19th C. American Literature, so I was in heaven seeing so much of "Ol' Nate" all over the place. Made sure to step on his great-grandfather's grave in the burying point, too.
Gommel...your regular watering hole doesn't happen to be "McSwiggin's," does it? (I think that is what it is called) We ate lunch there one day. Great little pub.

I'll preface this by saying 1) I'm writing from Australia and, 2) I've got 'The Warrior's Code' blasting in the background. What I'm thinking ( and hoping ) is that if they said " You better be on America's (side) !" they intended that to mean a general, inclusive thing and not " You'd better be on George W. Bush's side !", 'cause that's something much more specific, and they're dyed-in-the-wool Democrats and unionists anyway, aren't they ?? I'm not sure who the other side are taken to be, 'cause I can't imagine there would've been too many Al Quaeda supporters in an American Dropkick Murphys audience. I dunno, the politics of language and the language of politics are very strange these days ... enlighten me if you can, my American cousins, (I mean that pretty much literally, 'cousins', that is). And I've gotta say, 'Captain Kelly's Kitchen' kicks as much arse as anything I've ever heard. Cheers.

P.S. I've been watching Tim Armstrong's 'Give 'Em The Boot' dvd all night and I wouldn't reckon that a band that is such great mates with Rancid would be at complete odds with them, politically ... plus all the anti-war songs ... I dunno, see previous post. Cheers, all.

And one last one from me, PROMISE ... then there's that anti-CIA song and the band's inclusion on the 'Rock Against Bush' thing, I s'pose ...
