I saw them last Saturday and despite the venue, they put on a good show.
If you get the chance to see 'em live, you should do it.

Wages of Sin and Meisce are playing together on 3/17. Tried to get my wife to take a few vacation days and fly out there. She'd like to see them, but I dont think she'll take time off work to do it.

Wow, our own official 'Wages of Sin' section... I'm a bit verklempt... talk amongst yourselves...
Um, don't you have that one band, the Pogues or something, playing a bunch of St. Pats shows in your area?
Just asking ;D Feel free to come see us instead... although Seattle in March ain't exactly a vacation hotspot.
Thanks for the kind words all, guess we'll see some of you in March anyway.

A short flight from the bar to the dancefloor eh? The sabalas show was bunch of fun. God bless backdoors without locks. Wages didnt get to play quite as long as they shoulda been allowed though i thought. got meself a nice new t-shirt and its already got black butte beer stains on it. (the downside of drinking straight from the pitcher and trying to similtaniously play bouzouki)

What's black butte ? Also, are the Wages flying the flag for Seattle, 'cause I just saw last night on the world sport coverage that the Seattle Seahawks, is it, won the Superbowl. I'm fairly ambivalent about our own codes ( Rugby League in New South Wales and Queensland, Australian Rules in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia, Rugby Union for all the old school tie pricks ) but have been known to get fiercely partisan, if only for a short time.
I've got to say that American sports have got some wicked logos and all, and that I really dig the look of that baseball team THE PIRATES. Are they from Carolina or Florida or something?

Cheers to the Rum Rebellion lads for finding a way in - we were glad to have some fans of our own there. Hopefully an all-ages show will be on deck soon. And hopefully our fiddle player won't be in Vietnam for that one! And hopefully a few less bands on the bill, so we can stretch our legs a bit more, musically speaking. Slim Cessna's Auto Club are the db's... please check them out post-haste. Black Butte is a lovely porter, made in Oregon by the Deschutes Brewing Company. And while I share Will's general ambivalence about professional sports (with the possible exception of pugilism), I did watch the Superbowl yesterday, which is to say I drank a lot of beer and ate nachos. Unfortunately, the 'Hawks LOST. Fortunately, this being polite Seattle, no rioting ensued.

Will, the Pirates are from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I was watching some Aussie soccer the other day. Central Coast Mariners vs. Sydney FC How's the "beautiful game" doing down under anyways?

Bloodied but unbowed ... my missus is from Southampton - "Go you (relegated) Saints!" - so I received most of my education around the last world cup, which was in the prime-time tv zone here and sort of ignited the whole country. Everyone - other than the Italians (the biggest and most established non-English speaking facet of Australia) - adopted underdog teams, Africans and all. Australian soccer (heresy, sorry 'football') is starting to get it together ... apparently, they've had too many star players and not a unified team spirit, but they're getting on to that. Soccer in Australia had traditionally been 'just another sport' second to the other codes, but has always had a passionate following among first and second generation Southern European Australians. Looks like they're heating up a bit nowdays.
Yeah, I had a feeling it was the Pittsburgh Pirates, just wasn't sure if they weren't a team from traditional pirate country.

Black Butte porter and Obsidian stout are my favorites from deschutes. Mirror pond is the most common but I'm just not into the pale beers as much.
Riot cop had to drop outta that show on the 3rd so now we need to ad 1-2 more bands to the bill if you guys are interested. Cheers.
