Clash of The Tartans is my favorite Real McKenzies album as well. Sure it's hard to find outside of the Pac NW, it's poorly produced, & contains a somewhat folky feel to it.
But, that was a long time ago, (1998) I like the direction they are going in. Their last album (Oot & Aboot) was fantastic. In fact it was my second favorite RM Album. So, in my humble opinion, I don't think the Mac's music has gone to complete shit at all. I still think they have some of the best live shows around. Right after Flogging Molly. I raise my pint to those drunken Scottish Canadian bastards.

Had to jump in.
I agree that 'Clash of the Tartans' is a great disc, it was the one that made me buy 'Loch'd and Loaded' and 'Oot and Aboot', but I think 'Oot and Aboot' is just more consistent.
What I mean, 'Clash' has some super songs on it, but I enjoy more of the songs off 'Oot'.
Anyone prefer 'Loch'd'?

I saw em in Michigan with the Briefs and I don't know. They just didnt seem to be in it as much as everyone says they are when it comes to live shows. But, I still enjoy their music alot
