there's a lot of talk about it at the pogues forum and people have posted links. looks like it's gonna happen. phil chevron seemed to be pretty sure.

I would seriously be tempted to travel any distance within the US to see this. At the very least, a road trip to Detroit or Chicago would be in order. What I heard of the 2001 reunion was at least on par with Peace and Love or Hell's Ditch era Pogues live shows.

phil chevron:
"If you are a Pogues fan living in Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, London or Dublin and are hoping to see (the 1987-1990 line up of) The Pogues one last time, December 13 through to December 23 (2004) would be a really bad time to leave town."

But Shane has also said that his favorite places to play include Chicago and Detroit. And that he hates performing anywhere in the Midwest...

my hopes are never up when it comes to such things. i have seen two out of 8 pogues, and that is good enough for me right now.

I still want to see James, even if I have to settle for a Low and Sweet Orchestra reunion (even if it is less likely than The Pogues coming to the States). Or maybe the boys from Culture Club will finally call him back.

Amazon UK has now pushed back the release date on the Pogues remasters to 12/6. Not on their remastered list is Rum, Sodomy. Sound familiar? How many years ago did were the Pogues going to release that "live" album?

Amazon UK has now pushed back the release date of the Pogues remasters to 12/13/04. But Amazon UK now lists the tracks (and bonus tracks) for each CD for anyone interested.

I know two people from Portland that went to the reunion, and i'm expecting a full detailed review, but until they get back, does anyone have any early reports on the gigs?

Yeah, I heard a bootleg of them backing Spider Stacy in a D.C. gig back in 2001. Amazing stuff.
