So one of our bass player's schoolmates filmed us at rehearsal the other day, and posted it online as part of their University student newspaper: vimeo.com/2831953Pretty raw stuff, but it doesn't sound too bad. Or at least, any worse then we usually sound

That is awesome! Nice work indeed :-) Haven't seen that vimeo thing before, took a while to load up but the quality was fantastic when it did.

Yeah, I reckon it's one of the harder things you could pick... there's no frets, so you have to have a good ear to know where the notes are, and if you want to play rockabilly/bluegrass 'slap' style there's a lot of right-hand technique to learn as well. On the plus side, once you can do it you'll have no trouble finding a gig

Heh. I've played a handful of times (though I used t'play a fretless, anyhow), but it seems to me it'll take longer t'save up to buy one, than it would to learn t'play one proper.
