Anyone got it yet? I'll check the Pogues link in a bit. Looking forward to it, first time I've been REALLY looking forward to a good old fashioned record shop release in several ages.
Cheers ;D

Amazon (US) has the "Import" of Just Look Them Straight in the Eye & Say...Pogue Mahone!! available on 5/27/08 for $117. I didnt see a US version listed yet. At that price it would be cheaper to order it from amazon UK and pay shipping. I'll wait a bit and hope the US version isnt too far behind and that the track list will be the same.

Sweet.
Fucken VERY sweet. Good man, as ever, thanks so much for that, this must actually count as close to a record as far as a treasure trove of rarities goes, for any band. I can't wait for this, I'll get onto it very soon indeed.
This will be the best thing since 'Rogue's Gallery'. Ah, now THAT one (or two) I haven't heard in a while.
My faith is restored. I lost my faith in a lot (FM, for a start) and have heard waaaaaaay too much drivel, have actually been amongst waaaaaaaay too much gimmicky horseshit. Time to get real again, time to go back to the fire. And what better way than with this boxed set?
Great stuff.

I reserved mine on Amazon UK... even with the plummeting dollar it's well cheaper then ordering the import from Amazon US.
Can't wait.

I thought about that, then decided to let my wife and kids buy it for me for father's day. That way it goes on my wife's credit card and I can use my money for something else. I reserved mine on Amazon UK... even with the plummeting dollar it's well cheaper then ordering the import from Amazon US. Can't wait.

I have received today an e-mail from Amazon.de saying that the delivery has been delayed The new shipping date is June 3rd. I order a lot of stuff from amazon, but I always seem to get burned somehow with pre-orders...usually delays. Amazon (US) still shows 2 pre-orders. May 27 for $117 and now another one for June 17 for $61. I like that $61 price, but I'd be surprised if the date wasnt pushed back again. Recently amazon also listed it for June 3 at $82, but now I dont see that one. I'll probably avoid the pre-orders and just wait until it's out. Hopefully the price will stay in that $60 range.

Anyone manage to get one yet? Amazon (US) now says "In Stock" July 19, but they've been changing dates for months. Been listening to a lot of Benny Goodman lately, so I'm really looking forward to something totally different. If anyone is into Gene Krupa, check out this clip from a 1938 movie called Hollywood Hotel which ran on the Turner Classic channel recently. www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9J5Zt2Obko&feature=related

I'm starting to think a myth. A myth that I won't be able to afford if it ever comes out anyway. But I really want it. Especially those tracks with Joe Strummer on the lead vocals. I love The Pogues and I love Joe Strummer. It'd be interesting to hear a live track with someone sober fronting the Pogues.

still not out in the US??? got mine a few weeks ago Not on amazon (US) at least. A record store not far from me, says they have it but it's $80. Guess amazon can list it for $60 since they dont have any to sell. Their "in stock" date of 7/19 has been changed again to "not in stock". A reason I dont pre-order from them. How is the box set? Worth the $60-80?

Especially those tracks with Joe Strummer on the lead vocals. I love The Pogues and I love Joe Strummer. It'd be interesting to hear a live track with someone sober fronting the Pogues. The Pogues Live at the Town and Country Club DVD has them doing London Calling with Joe fronting em - tis prety cool. He gives commentary on all the songs also.

Been listening to a lot of oldies from the 50's & early 60's recently & spent a chunk of my Pogues money on the Phil Spector Back to Mono set. Looks like it'll be a bit longer before I order it.

Got mine a few weeks ago, right before I went on vacation Through disc 3, so far it's pretty great. I mean, lots of it is demos and stuff that I wouldn't necessarily put in an iTunes mix, but interesting to listen to (like the three early versions of 'Fairytale', with different lyrics/arrangements). But there are also a bunch of cool live-on-the-radio cuts, and some other rarities. Definitely worthwhile if you're a big Pogues fan (and if you're not, methinks you're on the wrong message board...). Packaging is also top-notch, very cool graphics & layout, plus notes from Phillip, James, Andrew, Spider, and Darryl.

Righto, gotta say that the new band is rocking along at a cracking pace but I'll wait to unveil that one for all and sundry in about a month. BUT! I will say that we will probably do a cover of 'GARBO'.
We've got three writers in the band so the songs are coming out faster than we've got time to learn them.
Bun Ho!!
Onya all, me dear ol' hearties.
