G'day all,
Just to let anyone remotely interested know:
The Go Set has just finished its second album, after about a month on the job. It's tentatively titled "The Hungry Mile" after Ernest Anthony's (1930s?) poem about the development of workers unions and migrant labour.
Its a little different to the first album, still got a raw feel - but we've incorporated more instrumentation this time around - accordian, violin, tin whistle, lowland pipes, bohdran etc. Most of the stuff was done in one or two takes, but we spent a little longer mixing it this time.
Still lots of bagpipes and rock n roll, songs about Australian workers Unions, politics and social issues, but also a few mellow acoustic tracks .
Anyway, we're all really stoked with it, and are keen to get it out. The release date will be in March 2006, be we'll be putting singles and videos up on the bands's site. At this stage we have tour dates for Australia and New Zealand, but we're hunting for labels in Europe and the USA, with a view to touring in both those areas in the middle of 2006.
Anyway, hope you guys like it.

I can confirm that this album is brilliant....have had it a few weeks now and seen the band live at the end of March - fantastic! If you haven't bought it - do so immediately, best album I have heard in ages.
A msucial and lyrical progression since the last one, but with all the energy harnessed nicely...

^ I agree, when I first heard it was a bid different but after many listens it just as good as their debut imo. Great work guys.
