Cool. Maybe they will have some copies of the new disc. Who're they playing with, you know?

Never Mind, I found it. Local quartet The Spoilers.
March 14th
I saw Blood Or Whiskey a few years ago in Lowell with Barney singing, (and playing bouzouki and melodeon) . How does the new line up of the band sound in comparison, anyway? (Y'know, Punkier, Folkier, Faster, Flogging Mollier, Y'know...)

The music is more punky then before but still recogniziable as Blood or Whiskey, the vocals have vastly improved since the promo CD last year and when the songs are good (about 1/2 the CD), they are very good and rest are average to good. Cait from the Pogues guests but I can't tell where.

I was a huge fan of them before, (the original line-up,) Barney's voice was so different, and Paul's banjo was so underappreciated, that guy could shred!
I absolutely love the songs 'Goodbye My Girl' and 'Galway Town'. Love 'em.
I did like 'No Time To Explain', but not as much as the first, (although my wife prefered the cleaner, more clash-like vocals of 'Never Be Me' and 'Don't Go Far', ( I forget if it was Dugs or Tom.)
I am looking forward to the new line-up but they did set the watermark high with that first release!

I were at that gig also! Enjoyed them so much I made the effort to see them at Morecambe as well...and I'll make sure I catch them this year also. I check their site every now and again to see if they're playing over here, no chance of seeing 'em where I live though I'd definitely travel to see 'em live. No idea regarding downloads, though I were a bit disappointed when I went to order their new CD this morning, it appears that Amazon have put their release date back to the 4th April...bugger
