There's also no date set for the 5CD Pogues box set of rarities, outtakes, demos, etc. It was 3/17, but then changed to "April".

I did a bit of diggin' and here's some stuff I found:
March 4 - The Tossers - CD/DVD, Gloatin’ and Showboatin’ March 14, - In Search of a Rose - CD, Kind of Green "Spring 2008" - Charm City Saints - CD, Hooligans and Saints “Early 2008” - The Currency - “the album now being mixed.” St. Patrick's Day, '08 - Dropkick Murphys - The Meanest of Times Limited Edition w/ 5 bonus tracks + a documentary DVD. November 3 - The Mahones - CD, Irish Punk Collection Also, although less specific as to when: Larkin - New CD - According to Chad on their myspace page The Peelers - New Album scheduled for 2008 and, of course, The Pubcrawlers - One Too Many Again - any day now, 2008
Lots to look forward to. ;D

A mailer out from Neck yesterday indicated the band are currently in the recording process - more details to follow!
It's about time Blood or Whiskey released something else as well...

I went on the BoW site yesterday but could find no talks of anything new in the works. They seem to be going through a reformation due to tough year, according to the site. Awesome news about Neck, though. Can't wait for that one!

Can't forget The Kissers new disc featuring a brand new piper/guitarist and accordian/keyboardist. As well as their recent live album. The Pug Mahones put out an EP of their first recordings.

We've got tracks recorded for 7" record but as of right now dont have the means to press/release them... (anyone feel like kicking $1000 to a good cause?) We would love to record new material for a full length album this summer as well, but we'll see how that goes......

That Pogues box set is gunna be the bloody business. I've heard rumours of that off and on for a while now and have just tonight read that Phil put it all together. What a treasure chest that'll be! That'll be the one we all lock ourselves away from the world with for about a fortnight. Anyone wants to MySpace me some time or other, I'm at: www.myspace.com/ceilidh_willieVeritas Vincit, Will Swan ;D Sydney

I just mailed a copy of my band's self-released debut album to this fine online publication a little over a week ago. We released it locally on Jan. 18th and we're working on making it available online. www.myspace.com/therighs

Welp, The Staggerers in the process of recording, but I'm not promisin' anythin' as far as release date. Prolly "summer", an' we'll leave it at that. Year of the Bastard it'll be.
Can't help but feel I've mentioned this elsewhere.

Meisce cd is now available at Fistolo records, but according to the song titles listed on interpunk it looks like just a reissue of their 8 song demo. Anyone know if there's addl tracks on this "new" one?

I checked with Fistolo about the Meisce CD. It's the same songs as the demo but they're remixed, remastered and there's new artwork. I have the demo and their 7", so I was hoping for some new songs. These guys are good. If you havent heard them, check it out.

The Currency one has been a slow cooker alright but it will be worth the wait. Mark my words, Stainsby's songs 'The Anchor And The Crown' and 'Ten Penny Bit' (named for the jig) are the business, excellent songs. The new McKenzies one is to be called 'Off The Leash' or something like that; apologies if someone's already mentioned it. I'm really looking forward to both. Grimacing Will (post-surgery. Indeed, Australia: 'Arse End of The Known World' (not counting New Zealand). There's the clue. Will winces with pain (literally, right this second ). Cheers as ever, Jesse, Auld Mate! Will (who will send some dubloons oe'r the seas if the Wages get a Wages/Guinness logo t-shirt happening, that is one mean design).

Love the mandolin. It really SOUNDS like a mandollin, I mean, like one of those sthingybill-backed ones (my brother's getting one of those repaired at the moment). Nice and clean, a great clean whistle sound.
Doing Wreck of the Old '97 that way, with the intro, is great, that must really fire up live.
Terrific album cover there, too.
Onya, Andy. And crew.
Cheers lads.

(Sorry for all the typos there, I'm so tired I can't see properly, plus I got distracted by a particularly good myspace page by one 'Wench' - that's the name - on the Pubcrawlers' Page. She's an Australian and all. Come on down, boys).

Thanks for the kind words Will... Oz is defiitely on the list of dream places to hit but as we're just shy of a bloody orchestra (9, at last count) we'll be needing to make a proper tour out of it to pay the bills. I'll definitely hit ya up soon for some suggestions and perhaps a wee bit of flyering as well, if you were so inclined...

Nine !!? That's the spirit. I think Catgut are nine-in-hand at the moment, assuming most are still alive (coffin humour, not humour-humour). Justin Keenan from The Go Set is definitely one of the main men out here to talk to should you ever want to rock on down. By the time you do, I'll have my own fighting unit up and running so I'll make my own wee contribution if I can. And I heartily recommend teaming up with Jack Flash in Queensland if you ever go there. Ah, the pretty girls of Brisbane ..... (Will drifts off into wistful bittersweet reverie).

Indeed, Australia: 'Arse End of The Known World' (not counting New Zealand). If you say that again my friend, I will be forced to cause you pain in the....oh no some doctors already done that Seriously bro - I hope you recover as quickly and painlessly as possible given the cirumstances! When are you coming over to to the actual arse end of the world? Bring your accordion, I'll replace the broken string on my mandolin from trying to play Metallica on it last week (don't ask) - we can jam and I'll buy you beer.... LX
