Won't be up for the gig BUT can tell you the Murphys are on form - just got back from watching them in Bristol !! Played virtually the whole of Meanest Of Times ... few oldies, Barroom Hero, Skinhead on The MBTA, Gangs All Here ... not enough early stuff for my liking but still very good. Too many covers though !!

I would've loved to have gone to both the Neck and Dropkicks gigs last night in London but sadly I can't afford it as I'm off to Berlin on Thursday for Punk and Disorderly and need to keep my money for that. Goddammit payday just ain't soon enough this month! So a local trip to see The Subhumans gig last night was a small consolation but a good gig nevertheless - probably the best I've seen them.
Went to see the DKM's in Bristol with revrat and saw them in Swansea the night after, thanks to Dom who plays for the East End Baddoes he gave me his spare all access pass so I was watching the gig from a different angle - from the left hand side of the stage! It was very difficult not to go into "fan girl" mode backstage so I kept a low profile and just chatted to the people I knew - Lianne, Dom and a couple of the guys from Foreign Legion. Ken recognised me from the night before as I had collared him outside the venue and spoke but as I was on the band's backstage territory I didn't want to feel as though I was hassling them (plus I didn't want the "verbal diahorrea" to spilleth over as knowing me I'd know I'd make a fool of myself, lol)! I can totally empathise with Henry Rollins as he suffers from the same problem when meeting heroes of his...which goes to show we are all human at the end of the day.
It was a surreal experience, I still can't believe it myself. One gig I'll definitely be reviewing for the fanzine...
