I'm thinking of getting a tossers CD but can only afford the one for the moment. I really loved Nantucket Girls song so was thinking of getting Purgatory but was wondering if anyone else could reccomend me a good CD?

Their new one Agony is really good, but, yeah, Valley of the Shadow of Death is awesome.
Go with that first.

Valley of the Shadow of Death for sure - this is a mind-blowingly good album.
I also love Communication & Conviction- Last Seven Years.

Which is the best song in your opinion on it? Best song off The Valley of the Shadow of Death? Well, my favorite off this, although it was a tough choice, must be "I've Pursued Nothing." Just barely nosing out "The Crock of Gold," which I love, and the mug-swinger, "No Loot, No Booze, No Fun."

It is indeed a toughie! I always used to think it was The Crock of Gold, but if I had to say right now it'd be a dead-heat between Drinking in the Day and siding with the Prof. on I've Pursued Nothing.
Goodmornin' Da & A Criminal of Me are both great kick-arse songs to start the album off too...
Go buy it - you won't be disappointed I promise.

I seem t'be alone on this 'un, but I'd say go fer Communication & Conviction, or Purgatory. Think those two out-did Valley.
Jus sayin'.

I'm glad this thread came up actually, reminded me I hadn't bought the latest Tossers one so just ordered it off Interpunk. The two songs on Myspace sound awesome...
Cian - let us know which one you get and what you think of it. If you're looking for something more polished (a la Flogging Molly) definitely get Valley as it has the full band (7 or 8 piece I think) and has a very good sound. If you prefer your paddy punk a little raw-er go for Communication & Conviction, that one sounds more like Mutiny or some of the rougher tracks off the first Pogues albums (e.g. Boys From the County Hell or The Sickbed of Cuchulainn or Bottle of Smoke). There's a track off C&C called Aye Sir that sums it all up beautifully for me - absolutely simple, obnoxious, energetic paddy punk!

I only know a few tossers tracks but I really loved Siobhan and Nantucket girls song, I dont go into types of celtic punk as opposed to individual songs, here's the songs I like most: Dropkicks:sunshine highway,Barroom hero, the gauntlet Flogging Molly:Drunken lullabies, salty dog, devil's dance floor
If any oif those make sense.
Moneys pretty tight so I can only get the one at the moment

Go, buy, enjoy...and when you're rich you can invest in the rest of the back catalogue, its all pretty darn good - as Captain Kelly pointed out earlier, buy one, you'll end up with them all. I started with Valley a year or 2 back and wound up ordering everything Amazon had to offer from The Tossers on the day it arrived.

Y'know, if you go to iTunes.com, you could download iTunes and listen to a sample of each tune and buy only the ones you want. Agony, Shadow of Death, Purgatory, and Communication and Convictionare on there.
Might be a way around strict finances...
