I'm a big fan of The Tossers and will be seeing them perform at Peabody's in Cleveland, Ohio, on Oct. 25. I just purchased "The Valley of the Shadow of Death" CD and it's brilliant (actually got it at Best Buy for $9.99). I also own a bunch of the older CDs as well and have a couple questions regarding the "Communication and Conviction" CD I was hoping you could answer.
1. What's the story on that drunken bastard that speaks in-between songs? Good stuff -- who is he and what's the scoop.
2. The liner notes refer to the songs being from "The Pint of No Return" and "We'll Never Be sober Again" -- are these actually recordings/CDs that are available as well? I have their entire catalog from Thick Records ... and want to get more if possible.
3. The duets on the CD are incredible -- I believe it's Lynn Bower that shares the mic with Tony. What's the scoop on her -- does she still record songs?
4. Tony question: I think I read somewhere (possibly on Shite 'n' Onions) that he was recording a solo CD -- is this actually happening and are there any details.

1. i don't know and don't give a crap anyway
2. they're long out of print. maybe you could score one from some old school fan off ebay or something. but it'd be lame 'cause i'm pretty sure the first few on communication and conviction were the only ones on those other ones anyway.
3. i don't know.
4. yeah. about 9 months ago i read about that. then i read it'd be released sometime in march. guess not. maybe next march. i think i remember reading that the recording was finished and just needed to be mastered and what not. i don't know. but he has done some "solo" shows.

pint of no return is out of print - so is we'll never be sober again. they are both on communication and conviction, minus a few songs.
there are two seven inch singles.
the drunken bastard at the beginning of communication and conviction is dan shaw's father.
lynn bower had a baby and no longer plays with us - but she made a guest appearence the other day.
tony's solo record comes out around st. patrick's day.

Another Tossers question (and yes I've asked it a million times before): Is there ever going to be a west coast tour? Like Los Angeles area? Or even San Diego. SD is a beautiful city. You guys should check it out.

Yea. I'll be there. Hopefully they will have copies of the new CD on sale, cuz I am sick of waiting for it in the mail. (I ordered it online on the 8th from a place called "FeedyourCDplayer.")
I hope this snow stops by then.

I asked Tony at the Peabody's show about those, 'cause I sold my copies years ago for food money, and he said the band has a box of "We'll never be sober again" in someone's car someplace, so they're not available.

So, whad da ya think of it? Of the CD: Great. Not only some some really well written songs, but nicely balanced. Very consistent in quality. Every song is good, each one has all the band's trademark sounds but doesn't lack variety. Whoever said this is the best release of the year so far, I gotta agree. Of the show at the Middle East: I was just really happy to see a fantastic band like these guys. My complaints of the show are 2: 1)The venue was too small. They could've done with a bit more room. And 2) Too short a show! I know these guys have a shitload and a half of material and could've played much longer. Neither of my complaints is the fault of the band, they did awesome, (even sans banjo,) I was very pleased. How 'bout you?

Same. They did well. It was a long way to come for 35minuets. Talked with Tony & Aaron afterwards both are very excited about the new CD, victory records are really behind them and spending the $$$$ and a 2nd video is coming out (no loot, no booze, no fun). Clay the banjo player couldn't get off work to come out here - he's in your profession - also clay usually fills the void when Tony busts his mandolyn strings

I got a email the day of game 1 of the world series from the tossers saying they were going to perform before the game. Was just curious if anyone saw anything about it. I remember last year the Dropkick Murphys played Tessie before game 1 of the world series in boston, its nice to see these local bands get some recognition at sporting events. It would be nice to find a mpg file of the performance.....

About half of the people at that concert were all bunched up next to a big screen TV downstairs, Street Dogs and Flogging Molly included. There was no sign of Dave King....Hmmm, wonder why?

I have a question. What is the name of the song that's on the same track as Ciara on Long Dim Road? I'm trying to tab it out and was wondering what the name of the song is.
