And I just got the new Tossers, which is pretty d**n great. But not as good as Custom of the Sea. Just got back from an 8 day trip to Kentucky with my wife and adult daughter who usually have a very low tolerance for Irish music. My wife even asked I not bring any except for GWF. Yet they wound up playing Custom every time we were in the car. Wish I had charged a quarter each time my daughter asked to hear "Heave Away". Good thing I bought 2 copies of this CD, cause my wife now wants one in her car.

I just got that Gogol Bordello and Sharky Doyles cds in the mail yesterday and will be listening to them today. That has got to be the last purchase I make in a while, or I'm going to go broke. Although the new filthy thieving bastards cd thats out today looks tempting.

You guys are going to give me a big head... and trust me, it's plenty big already ;D
Glad everybody's enjoying it - even wives and daughters. Could be because we're not all that 'Irish' - at least by this board's standards. Regardless, family entertainment is what we strive for ;D

My wife was more accepting of it in the '90's when I only had a few bands and she could tell them apart. She liked Black47 and the Pogues back then. Now I think she's down to GWF and Wages of Sin. The rest she claims all sound the same. So we have a truce in the cars. I dont play a lot of Irish music or any Dave Brubeck when she's in the car and she wont put on Meatloaf and some other bands I cant stand when I'm in the car. Luck you. My wife won't let me play any music by "shouting Irish guys"

The only Irish stuff my wife and I agree on is Blood or Whiskey, Big Bad Bollocks, and Neck. She Loves Neck. Our truce usually means one of these three or seperate cars. ;D

Singloud: 'The Rare Oul' Stuff' - is this a greatest-hits type deal? Worth having? Yeah its a good listen, has a few rare tracks and the like on it, but the majority is taken from 'The Snake' and 'Crock of Gold'. I still bought it anyway. Still think its criminal to have left off 'More Pricks Than Kicks' and 'Lonesome Highway' though!

All I've got on RAPPAREE (singular, my mistake) is that 'Rapparee Records' was based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They do a lot of Clancy Brothers sort of stuff; Brennan On The Moor, Jug Of Punch, Fare Thee Well Enniskillen. They'd be an S'n'O staple if they were better known, I reckon.
ALSO: I've gotta add THE KILLIGANS to my jukebox list.
